Located amidst stunning scenery at the heart of the Peak district National Park, Castle Cliffe is an ideal base from which to explore the many sites and activities the area has to offer. All rooms have views, whether to the west looking out over the Dale, south across open fields towards the market town of Bakewell, or east across Longstone Edge towards Chatsworth House and beyond.             

Tea and home made cakes in the garden in summer or by an open log fire in our guest lounge in winter.

Hearty aga cooked breakfasts, sourced locally wherever possible. Full breakfast is included in the price.

All rooms are en suite and prices per room per night range from £64 for a standard to £90 for a newly refurbished luxury room.

Walks: Walk straight from the house down the beautiful Monsal Dale or follow one of the many other paths from our doorstep. Alternatively, use our guides for other routes around the Peak District. There are walks to suit all ages and abilities.

Cycling: The Monsal, Tissington and High Peak Trails provide easy cycling that is perfect for families. Hire bikes locally or bring your own. Off road bikers can take advantage of the routes that dissect the Peak District. Route maps and packed lunches can be provided.

Touring: Within a few miles of Castle Cliffe are the stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. At Chatsworth, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, the grand rooms, gardens, farmyard and adventure playground offer something for all the family. Also nearby are the plague village of Eyam, the famous caverns of Castleton and the popular market town of Bakewell.
