Formerly a 17th Century Coaching Inn, the business has been transformed into a comfortable relaxed and welcoming retreat offering a high quality accommodation and service with an excellent local reputation for food and real ales.
Recently under new manangement (April 09), a family run business, two sisters and their families, who worked with the previous Proprieter.
Start your stay with us by relaxing with a drink in the friendly atmosphere of the character beamed bar area with traditional coal fire.
In the contemporary restaurant, a browse at the menu is recommended so you can see for yourself that with the combination of British and local produce and the imagination, flair and high standards of our chefs why we have been awarded with our reputation.
All our rooms have been furbished to include ensuite facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and colour TV.
Each room has been individually styled to enhance the quality of our accommodation for which we have been awarded three diamonds by the English Tourist Board. Dogs welcome.
There are many areas of interest within a few miles of Peak Forest including Chatsworth House & Gardens, the market town of Bakewell, Castleton with the world famous Caverns and the Spa Town of Buxton, not to mention the easy road and rail links to larger cities such as Manchester, Sheffield and Chesterfield.
For the more energetic, we are situated on both the White Peak Way and Limestone Way with many other shorter walks in the area which take in the breathtaking views of the Peak District.
