Description
Lily Bank Farm Cottage B&B is nestled on the beautiful hillside of the Goyt valley in a tiny hamlet dating back to the 17th century. The location is idyllic and provides walks and mountain bike rides from the doorstep as well as being only 10 minutes drive from the pretty village of Hayfield for walks on Kinder Scout and Jacob’s Ladder, 15 minutes from Lyme Hall and 30 minutes from Castleton. The closest pub is just over 10 minutes walk away.
At Lily Bank Farm Cottage there is a warm and friendly atmosphere and we welcome anybody to stay with us including people with dogs, kids, bikes and very muddy boots. We have two double bedrooms with either en-suite or private bathroom. Included is a high quality cooked breakfast and/or porridge/pancakes or similar to suit your requirements. Packed lunches can also be provided. The rooms have TV, hairdryer, proper showers (no horrible curtains or trickling tepid water here!). Tea and coffee making facilities are available with home made cake free of charge to be eaten while resting in front of the wood burning stove.
We provide route cards and maps free of charge with suggested walks and bike rides, all with amazing views, some of which are very dog friendly, some particularly suitable for bad weather and most which will take you past a pub or two for refreshments!
Other activities within walking distance are golf, horse riding, angling, canoeing and bird watching and on top of that the hillsides are littered with historic stuff from Iron Age to Victorian times.
We have more facilities for people who wish to mountain bike, please look at our website.
