Description
Situated in woodland on a beautiful and historic 900-acre estate just south of the charming market town of Ashbourne, Woodland Caravan Park offers guests a relaxing break with excellent facilities.
Woodland Caravan Park is a peaceful hide-away, a haven for walkers and cyclists and a perfect base for exploring the many historic, cultural and outdoor attractions of the Peak District.
Woodland Caravan Park lies in the grounds of Snelston Hall, a privately owned estate that has been in the same family for 300 years.
Visitors relax in the tranquil woodland surroundings and enjoy exclusive access to some of the private footpaths on the estate.
The nearest pub is a two-minute drive away and the nearest shops and restaurants are in Ashbourne, which is a five-minute drive. 3 miles away from Alton Towers.
Darley Moor, a small, independent motorcycle racing circuit is situated nearby. Guests are advised to check dates and availability for the occasional weekends when Darley Moor is open, as it can be noisy during the day - visit our website.
Charles and Linda Jane Stanton, owners of Woodland Caravan Park, are celebrating as, just two years after opening their gates, they have scooped two top notch national caravan park awards.
The site was nominated as 'excellent' by readers of Practical Caravan Magazine, which secured the park a place in their 'Top 100 Parks 2009' listing.
Woodland Caravan Park has also been accredited by the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, made each year to those parks that demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment.
To secure accreditation, David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling.
Commenting on their recent wins, Charles Stanton said,
“We are both delighted and proud to have won these awards. We are trying very hard to create a really beautiful and relaxing setting that takes the needs of both visitors and the surrounding wildlife into account”.
